Although Kid Cudi and Wale claim to have beef for indifferent reasons, the bigger picture lies in the fact that the two men fighting destroys the progressive image that Barack Obama has helped to bring for black men in this country. Obama has conquered the highest political office that can be held in this country. Fighting between these two rappers divides the black population. It is no secret that Cudi is an African-American and that Wale has Nigerian blood flowing through his veins. We know that Wale used to play football in college so there is no doubt that if things got physical, Wale SHOULD have the upper hand. Cudi did not play many if any sports in high school, as he confessed on his first album (he was in it for the girls). There already is a problem between African Americans and Africans in the black community. It might seem light and easy right now but if this beef gets heated, as they normally do, it can get really ugly in an a heart beat. What if Cudi gets real rude and calls Wale an “African Booty scratcher?” What if Wale says that Cudi’s family was all slaves back in the day? To sum up this beef between Wale and Kid Cudi needs to end. The work that Barack Obama has done to heal the image of the black man should not be mended by this ludicrous fight. I believe that both individuals need to sit down and end this brawl peacefully as men and Wale should know better than to engage in this kind of battle.
