- About Me
- Jay Richards was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York with the background nationality of Guyanese. As a child, Jay knew he wanted to play football as his career path; therefore, he played many tournaments until he reached the age of 14. Growing up around drugs and gangs, Jay got caught up in the street life but after seeing his older brother get incarcerated for 4 years on drugs and gun charges, he decided to enroll in College. While in school, Jay found the love for acting, whereas Academic Teachers and Security Guards always supported his talent, suggesting that he partake in a few acting classes. To much surprise, Jay decided to take a few acting courses and by the ending of 2008 jay starred in his first role called the The Tested. He played as a street thug/drug dealer which realistically shared a similarity to the lifestyle that he was once surrounded by. In 2009, Jay became a member at Central Casting NY where he landed his next role on NBC's television show Mercy. His profession as an Actor continued to take off when he landed his next role on Law and Order SVU where he also played as a drug dealer in a courtroom scene. In 2010, jay played a leading role in a West Indian film called A west Indian Story. Jay is taking his acting career by storm and is in the process of landing more roles on the BIG SCREEN..
