Darkside Entertainment Music Group is a Canadian-started record label specializing in hip hop music. It was founded by CAIN (Christopher Mathew Pinto) and his artist/patners; Apocalypse (J.Anderson), BLAKFASE, Domestic aka The Real Madd Child (S.Nelson) Beat Savage, MASHONE aka MASHFACE (S.Savariau), Fuzzy J (B.Mckenzie), ShortFuse, and other affiliated partners in the entertainment industry since 2000. DEMG operates on its own, and is distributed through, PHANTOM DISTRIBUTION/SDCD/CDBABY.
Started in the year 2000, Christopher 'Mat' Pinto also known in the entertainment community as "CAiN" pressed on in the growing urban music industry in Toronto Canada along with partners “Shortfuse” and “Fuzzy J”. After leaving an education in Business Administration at Humber College in 2001, “Cain” went on to focus his efforts on publishing and building the D.E.M.G. label. The organization has grown since then continuously making additions to their growing catalog of music and DVD releases from Toronto, ON Canada to the deep south Caribbean city of Kingston, Jamaica.
In 2004, Darkside Entertainment Music Group's founder Cain took a 3 year "vacation" to Jamaica and created Gambling House Recording Studio with Kimani and Sadike Johnston from the group WALL$TREET. Cain at the same time pursued certification in MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) and CompTIA A+ certification for further knowledge and a career in networking administration.
Darkside Entertainment Music Group has focused its efforts on the "entertainment economy" and linked distribution for its music in 2005 through Phantom Distribution/SDCD/CDBABY. DEMG music is digitally distributed worldwide online through online retailers such as; iTunes, Napster, Raphsody and many others. In the near future DEMG plans to work with Indie Pool on digital, retail and radio distribution (charting campaign) as well as duplication & manufacturing. 2007 marks the release of the "Eagle Eye Riddim" (Eagle Eye Medley) from Darkside Entertainment Music Jamaica/Caspa Productions. The music release and video consists of music and appearances from international recording artists; Capleton, Elephant Man, Ghost and General B. The DVD release shows fans the television version and behind the scene cuts that were not released. The Eagle Eye DVD also features the EPK from Flim House artist Rakell with the song "If You Ready" which topped Jamaican RETV's MVP Charts at Number 1, 5 weeks in a row.
In 2009 D.E.M.G. branded the label with new artists such as Blakfase, Tex, Kingz Spade and Juvon Taylor on drum pounding instrumentals from in house artist/producers as well as banging productions from Naweed Productions, Smokeshop Productionz, Dope Azz Productions & Get It Dun Producitons. For 2010 we have taken on productions from producers Simima Beats, Vybez Beats, Bravestar, Royal Audio Tunes, Johnny Juliano and Koncept Beats.
The D.E.M.G. 2010 campaign will consist of urban music for the hip hop soul, with a touch of R&B and Reggae. Melodic chorus' and verses combined to create radio playable singles immersing the new “CAiN” album (Tentative Release Date: 04-19-2010, title TBC, upc: TBC) from start to finish. This Year CAiN, D.E.M.G. and its artists are looking for major recognition and major label distribution, we are working towards a radio charting campaign that should lead us to the ECMA for 2011 among other events.
